I auditioned for a role in a new soap opera called The New World. The cool part about it is that the show is based in a small New England town during the late 1700s... and I don't think there are any other "period piece" soap operas on TV. We even got to wear the 18th century dresses during the audition, which are incredibly heavy and hot. I don't know how women suffered through all those layers and wires... perhaps that's why women didn't work or exercise or join their husbands at the saloon for a little fun–because they were always trapped in huge, heavy, awkward clothing. I know I wouldn't be doing anything but tending to the home if I had to wear that much clothing all the time.
The Day Gets Even Better
To celebrate my second audition, I stopped at the Galleria on the way home and totally hit the jackpot. These beautiful Christian Lacroix heels were stuck in a Marc Jacobs box in the Saks' clearance section and I couldn't believe my eyes (or luck!). Absolutely gorgeous!
